New meters for SQL Server and BizTalk Server on Azure Virtual Machines for Trusted Cloud—USGov
Between June 20 and July 8, 2016, we will assign per-minute usage to dedicated 8 core, 16 core, 20 core, and 32 core SQL Server and BizTalk Server meters and eliminate the usage multiplier. Service rates will not change, however you may need to modify your billing routines before June 20, 2016, if they rely on the resource GUID or meter names. SQL Server and BizTalk Server usage on 1 core, 2 core, 3 core, and 4 core VM sizes will continue to be emitted on the existing 4 core meter.
In the .csv download for your deployment during this transition period, you’ll notice two line items for each VM size you have running: one for usage emitted on the SQL Server or BizTalk Server 4 core meter and another for usage on the new dedicated meter corresponding with your deployment’s size. The resource GUIDs for SQL Server and BizTalk Server for 8 core, 16 core, 20 core, and 32 core VM sizes will change, and the resource name of the existing 4 core meter will also change.
The table below shows changes to the Resource Names, usage multipliers, and Resource GUID as a result of this transition. We recommend you update your applications accordingly.
Resource name | VM size | Core count | Usage Multiplier before June 20, 2016 | GUID Before June 20, 2016 | New resource name | Usage Multiplier effective on June 20, 2016 | GUID On June 20, 2016 |
