Service Agreement & Terms

Your use of the Azure service is governed by the terms and conditions of the agreement under which you obtained the services.

  • For customers who purchase or renew a subscription (including free trials) online from Microsoft, your use is governed by the Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement, which incorporates the Online Services Terms.
  • For customers who purchase through another volume licensing agreement, such as an Enterprise Agreement, your use is governed by the volume licensing agreement under which you purchased the services, which incorporates the Online Services Terms. You can obtain a copy of your volume licensing agreement by contacting your Microsoft account representative or volume licensing.
  • If you do not have an Azure subscription, your use of the Azure service will be governed by the Microsoft Azure Website Terms of Use.

Privacy Statement

The Microsoft Privacy Statement describes the privacy policy and practices that govern your use of Azure and Microsoft’s other enterprise online services, such as Office 365 and Intune. The Online Services Agreement or Preview Supplemental Terms may specify a different privacy statement for some services.

Trust Center

The Microsoft Trust Center provides information on security, privacy, and compliance topics for customers of Azure and other Microsoft Online Services. The Service Trust Portal (STP) is a companion feature to the Trust Center that provides access to audit reports, GDPR documentation, compliance guides, and related documents that provide more detailed information on how Microsoft helps protect your data.

Service Level Agreements

The Service Level Agreements describe commitments around uptime and connectivity for Azure.

Preview Supplemental Terms

The Preview Supplemental Terms include additional legal terms that apply to your use of Azure features that are in beta, preview, or otherwise not yet released into general availability.

Microsoft Azure Marketplace Terms

Terms and conditions governing your use of the Microsoft Azure Marketplace are set forth in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace Terms, which is incorporated by the Online Services Terms.

Microsoft Azure Germany Terms

Additional terms and conditions govern Microsoft Azure Germany: Supplement to the Online Services Terms, an updated Privacy Statement, and a separate Customer-Data Trustee Agreement.

Microsoft Azure Government Terms

Terms and conditions governing your use of the Microsoft Azure Government Cloud are set forth in the Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement - US Government Cloud.

Website Terms of Use

The Website Terms of Use apply to your use of the Azure website. If you have an Azure subscription, your purchase and use of the Azure service is governed by the terms and conditions of the agreement under which you purchased the service. Please see the Service Agreement & Terms section above for additional information. If you do not have an Azure subscription, the Website Terms of Use also apply to the limited Azure services you can use without a subscription.
