General Availability: Azure Read-Access Geo Redundant Storage (RA-GRS)
Published date: April 03, 2014
Geo Redundant Storage accounts store data in two separate regions: The primary region (the default location where all updates and deletes are kept), and a secondary region (where copies of your data are stored). When you enable Azure Read-Access Geo Redundant Storage (RA-GRS), your application has Read-only access to the secondary region’s copy of the data in case your primary storage location fails.
