Announcing Application Insights .NET SDK version 2.15
Published date: September 16, 2020
Application Insights SDK forms an integral part of Azure Monitor – providing you with the ability to collect and send telemetry data across various application components to Azure Monitor.
Today, we are announcing the release of our newest Application Insights .NET SDK version 2.15. This release is directly in response to customer feedback and introduces a new set of features and bug fixes.
With this update, you can take advantage of new features like:
- Simplified Application Insights service options configuration for ASP.NET core applications.
- First-class source debugging experiences for binaries through support for source links in the SDK.
- Telemetry ingestion tracking – allowing customers to track transmitted telemetry and responses from the ingestion service in Azure.
- Temporary local storage of telemetry data sent through the server telemetry channel during network outages and transient errors is now on by default for Windows, Linux & Mac.
Additionally, with this release, Application Insights .NET SDK will longer support .NET Framework 4.5 and .NET Core 1.xx applications, as these .NET versions have reached end of supportability. Moving forward, we will continue to support all officially supported versions of .NET.
Details of all updates and bug fixes are available in our change logs.
