Public preview: Up to 10 read replicas for MySQL – Flexible Server

Now in public preview, Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server supports asynchronous replication of data from one Azure Database for MySQL server (the ‘source’) to up to 10 Azure Database for MySQL servers (the ‘replicas’) in the same region. This enables read-heavy workloads to scale out and be balanced across replica servers according to a user’s preferences. Replica servers are read-only; any writes are those replicated from data changes on the source. Stopping replication to a replica server causes it to become a stand-alone server that accepts reads and writes.
