Published date: July 22, 2014
Create, manage, and get monitoring and billing insights on virtual machines the same way you do for web sites, SQL databases, storage, and other Azure services.Manage your virtual machines in Resource Groups, get deep insights on billing and monitoring, and customize your blades and lenses to make them look just how you want. All the familiar features from the full Azure portal are here too, like managing disks, endpoints, availability sets, load balanced sets, and extensions. Manage your existing virtual machines in the Preview portal – any new virtual machines you create in the Preview portal will also show up in the full Azure portal. You can continue to use them both side-by-side until you're ready to make the switch. All the images you use from the full Azure portal (Windows Server, SQL Server, Ubuntu, and more) are now available for you to use in the Azure gallery. There are new additions to the gallery, including some great offerings from new partners like Bitnami and Barracuda. We also have a brand new gallery item that will deploy a highly-available SharePoint Server Farm with just a few clicks. To get started, go to portal.azure.com.
