Azure Redis Cache adds new administration options which allows you to test your application for connection resiliency in case of a failure and also schedule updates to Azure Redis Cache. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cache-administration/
Pranav and Seth go in depth about Redis Cache and improving security.
Redis clustering gives you maximum scale and throughput. Azure Redis Cache offers Redis cluster as implemented in Redis. In Azure, Redis cluster is offered as a primary/replica model where each shard has a primary/replica pair with replication where the replication is managed by Azure Redis Cache service. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cache-how-to-premium-clustering/ http://redis.io/topics/cluster-tutorial
In this video we will look at some of the best practices on how should you pick the right Redis Cache offering for your use case. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cache-faq/
In this episode Chris Risner and Haishi Bai are joined by Pranav Rastogi, Program Manager on the Azure team who joins us to discuss the new Premium Tier for Azure Redis Cache. The premium tier offers support for new functionality including persistence, Redis Clusters, Azure Virtual Networks, as well as better performance. In this first part of a series on caching, Pranav and I talk about caching in general for asp.net. We go through the different types of caching available as well as some pitfalls that you might encounter when working with this type of technology. It was definitely a great primer for me on the usefulness of caching, some of the underlying technical principles, as well as some things to keep in mind when working with caching in asp.net. It was a good eye-opener for me! Hopefully there are some useful nuggets to help us all make truly powerful websites that scale.
Unfortunately with this one I had a bit of a snag on the first part of the video (lost a couple of minutes). We basically talked about the Redis caching system and then went on to create and use a cache directly from Azure. The important bits on how to create and use said cache in Azure is still intact and super informative. Don't forget to visit redis.io to learn more about Redis as well as some notes for Redis on Azure.
In this video Pranav shows us how to use an Azure Redis cache in our asp.net applications. It literally takes a little more than 2 minutes. I was so blown away with how easy it is to use this kind of advanced caching in our web applications.
Microsoft Azure Redis Cache is a secure, dedicated cache service from Microsoft, based on the Open Source Redis Cache engine. In this session, we take a lap around Azure Redis Cache, the feature set offered. We also look at some of the common gotchas when using Azure Redis Cache and best practices for using this Cache.
Walk through a setup of Redis in a virtual machine (VM) on Azure, and do a pub/sub.
