Azure IoT Edge pricing
Extend cloud intelligence and analytics to edge devices—Azure IoT Edge is a fully managed service that delivers cloud intelligence locally by deploying and running artificial intelligence (AI), Azure services, and custom logic directly on cross-platform IoT devices. Run your IoT solution securely and at scale—whether in the cloud or offline.
US government entities are eligible to purchase Azure Government services from a licensing solution provider with no upfront financial commitment, or directly through a pay-as-you-go online subscription.
Important—The price in R$ is merely a reference; this is an international transaction and the final price is subject to exchange rates and the inclusion of IOF taxes. An eNF will not be issued.
Azure Germany is available to customers and partners who have already purchased this, doing business in the European Union (EU), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), and in the United Kingdom (UK). It provides data residency in Germany with additional levels of control and data protection. You can also sign up for a free Azure trial.

Azure IoT Hub is required for the secure management of devices and services deployed to the edge via Azure IoT Edge. Azure IoT Edge is designed to run on both Windows and Linux, on hardware of your choosing. You would deploy Azure IoT Edge on an IoT device with sufficient memory and other resources, typically a gateway class device.
For more information about the capabilities supported in the basic and standard tiers, please see how to choose the right IoT hub tier.

Azure IoT Edge service itself is free but requires Azure IoT Hub for the secure management of devices. If you choose to access Azure services (Modules) with IoT Edge you are billed for the specific service based on its billing model for use on the edge. For instance, if you choose to run Azure Stream Analytics on IoT Edge you will be billed for IoT Hub usage and according to the Azure Stream Analytics on edge pricing.
Yes. IoT Edge runtime is free and open sourced. You can spin up a free edition of IoT Hub Standard tier (message limitations apply) and run many of the edge modules free of charge. There may be cloud usage charges for any pre-deployment work (e.g. training machine learning models in Azure).
IoT Edge works with all editions of the IoT Hub Standard tier. IoT Edge does not work with the IoT Hub Basic tier due to the need for bidirectional communication between cloud and edge.
