Azure Stack—FedRAMP High documentation now available

Published date: November 01, 2018

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services used by the US government. Because FedRAMP’s goal is to protect US citizen data in the cloud, it's government’s most rigorous security compliance framework. For this reason, cloud service providers (CSPs) are required to obtain a FedRAMP authorization in order to provide their cloud services to the federal government. There are different classifications for FedRAMP: Low, Moderate, and High. FedRAMP High is the most stringent and it's required to protect some of the government’s most sensitive, unclassified data in cloud computing.

Thanks to this formal assessment by a 3PAO, customers now have all the necessary documentation related to the Azure Stack infrastructure to pursue the FedRAMP High certification for their workloads running on top of Azure Stack.
