Action required: Migrate to using ARG query for “Get Alert Summary” in Azure Monitor

Published date: September 29, 2023

You’re receiving this email because you’re using GetAlertSummary API in Azure Monitor.

On 30-Sep-2026, we will retire GetAlertSummary API. Before that date, you’ll need to migrate to ARG query, which provides all of the functionality of GetAlertSummary API plus new ones, including:

  • Ability to add new fields to the query that returns the alert summary.

  • Ability to be more flexible in the query that returns the alert summary.

Required action

To avoid a breaking change in your system while using GetAlertSummary API, use the migration path to start using Arg query by 30-Sep-2026.
