Public preview: Azure Database for MySQL– Flexible Server: Announcing SSL enforcement and minimum TLS version choice
Published date: May 12, 2021
Now in public preview, Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server supports connecting your client applications to the server using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) with Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption. TLS is an industry-standard protocol that ensures encrypted network connections between your database server and client applications, allowing you to adhere to compliance requirements.
Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server now allows you to choose to disable SSL or enable SSL with TLS 1.2 by default. If you choose to enable SSL enforcement, you can also now select the preferred TLS version (v1.0, v1.1, v1.2, or v1.3) by setting require_secure_transport and tls_version server parameters on your Azure Database for MySQL - Flexible Server.
