このたび、Microsoft Azure 仮想マシン用の新しいタイプの永続ストレージである Azure Standard SSD Managed Disks を一般提供することとなりました。Standard SSD ディスクは、比較的低い IOPS レベルで一貫したパフォーマンスを必要とするワークロード向けに最適化された、コスト効果に優れたストレージ オプションです。Standard HDD ディスクではデータがハード ディスク ドライブ (HDD) に格納されるのに対し、Standard SSD ディスクではデータがソリッド ステート ドライブ (SSD) に格納されます。Standard SSD は、HDD ディスクと比較して、可用性、一貫性、信頼性、待ち時間の点で優れており、Web サーバー、低 IOPS のアプリケーション サーバー、軽い負荷で使用されるエンタープライズ アプリケーション、Dev/Test ワークロードに適しています。一方、Premium SSD ディスクは、Standard SSD ディスクよりもパフォーマンスに優れています。待ち時間がきわめて短く、高い IOPS/スループットを備え、プロビジョニング済みディスクのパフォーマンスとの一貫性が一層向上します。そのため、運用環境のワークロードに使うディスクの種類としては Premium SSD が推奨されます。 Microsoft では、2018
