BP Azure Platform Adoption - A Megalopolis Architecture
The session is an open forum for discussing BP’s implementation of the hub and spoke architecture. This paradigm switch provided BP with the agility of building and migrating applications to the cloud. Previously, BP had been working in Microsoft Azure for nearly four years, but the approach quickly became difficult to manage for a variety of reasons. They found that the use large monolithic subscriptions, along with the unnecessary separation of PaaS and IaaS subscriptions, was not offering the agility and control that BP aspired to meet for their cloud journey and their internal customers. The hub and spoke design completely removed the difficulties of the former design.
