General availability: Azure Operational Insights

Generally available on May 4, 2015, Azure Operational Insights is an analysis service designed to provide IT administrators with deep insight into their on-premises and cloud environments. It helps you interact with real-time and historical computer data for rapid development of custom insights, while providing Microsoft- and community-developed patterns for data analysis.With Operational Insights, you can help empower operations teams to effortlessly collect, store, and analyze log data from virtually any Windows Server or Linux source—regardless of volume, format, or location. Access real-time operational intelligence with improved troubleshooting, operational visibility, and fast search, so you can explore, investigate, and fix incidents quickly. Ready made solution packs are designed to guide proactive decision making around data configuration, best practices, security, and auditing. This centralized solution also reaches beyond Azure to bring unity and flexibility to all your deployments, across all your data centers and clouds.Usage on the Free tier is limited to 500 MB per day, and data is retained for seven days. Standard-tier data is retained for one month, and Premium data is retained for twelve months.
