Azure SQL Migration extension in Azure Data Studio in public preview

Whether you’re looking to lift-and-shift on-premises SQL Server databases to SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS) or to migrate and modernize them to Azure SQL Managed Instance (PaaS), the new Azure SQL Migration extension in Azure Data Studio (powered by Azure Database Migration Service) will guide you through a simple wizard that reduces the complexities of database migrations. The extension also performs assessments on your SQL Server databases to check for Azure suitability and readiness of migrating them to Azure SQL Managed Instance (PaaS) or SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS).
