We are excited to introduce the preview of bursting support on Azure Premium SSD Disks, and new disk sizes 4/8/16 GiB on both Premium & Standard SSDs.

Today, we are announcing the general availability (GA) of Microsoft Azure Ultra Disk Storage—a new Managed Disks offering that delivers unprecedented and extremely scalable performance with sub-millisecond latency for the most demanding Azure Virtual Machines and container workloads.

Today, Tad Brockway, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Azure, announced the general availability of Azure Ultra Disk Storage, an Azure Managed Disks offering that provides massive throughput with sub-millisecond latency for your most I/O demanding workloads.

We are encouraged by the response to the introduction of Managed Disks. Since the announcement, we’ve seen many customers take advantage of this new way to manage persistent storage for their Virtual Machines.

Our customers are moving their most demanding and mission critical workloads to the cloud. I am delighted to announce a new disk offering for the Microsoft Azure platform!

Azure increases the maximum size and performance of Azure Disks. We are excited to announce the maximum disk sizes for both Premium and Standard storage.

Today, we are excited to announce Azure Storage Service Encryption (SSE) with keys managed by Microsoft for Managed Disks.
