Azure Data Explorer extends geospatial functionality
Published date: 30 March, 2020
Azure Data Explorer has supported geospatial functions since 2019.
The following functions support geospatial clustering based on a sphere surface and have been added recently:
- geo_point_to_s2cell() (Calculates the S2 cell token string value for a geographic location)
- geo_s2cell_to_central_point() (Calculates the geospatial coordinates that represent the centre of S2 Cell)
Additionally, it’s now possible to render map data using pie charts and scatterplots in KustoExplorer.
