General availability: On-premises data gateway for Logic Apps
Published date: May 03, 2017
The on-premises data gateway ensures that you can use your business applications in the cloud with your on-premises data sources. It acts as a bridge that provides quick data transfer and encryption between on-premises data sources and cloud services. The gateway now supports Power BI, Microsoft Flow, PowerApps, and the Logic Apps feature of Azure App Service.
Today, the gateway functionality in Azure enters general availability. This comes with a major update for the gateway that allows users to specify the region where the gateway cloud service and Azure Service Bus are used to give admins even more control of their gateway settings.
To use the gateway in Azure, you first need to create an Azure resource and associate it to your gateway. Then you can use it to establish on-premises connections in your Azure cloud services. Today, Logic Apps is the only supported feature in Azure. To start using the on-premises data gateway with Logic Apps, follow the steps in Using the gateway in Logic Apps.
