Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) support for Azure Availability Zones is now generally available to help customers protect applications and data from datacenter failures. Under the model, an AKS cluster distributes resources such as nodes and storage across the underlying Azure compute infrastructure. The nodes run across separate update and fault domains in a single Azure datacenter, providing a high level of availability protection against hardware failures and during planned maintenance events. The model also enables customers to achieve higher availability and resilience for worker nodes.
