Private preview: AKS cluster persistent volume backup

Azure Backup service is announcing private preview of AKS persistent volume backup. With this release, you can backup and restore the persistent volumes of your Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) cluster.

Benefits includes -

• Recovery from data corruption or deletion of persistent volumes

• Clone or replicate persistent volumes to dev / test environments

Using this feature, you can - 

• configure backup for the persistent volumes of stateful application deployed on the AKS cluster 

• restore back one or more persistent volumes on to the same or different cluster  

Use this feature to configure data protection for the stateful application deployed as Kubernetes workloads (namely Deployment, Statefulset) that saves application data in one or more persistent volumes.
