Overview

Reimagine incident response and operational excellence with an agentic AI solution

Help developers and site reliability engineers (SREs) minimize alert fatigue with a collaborative, intelligent agent that maintains systems reliability while reducing manual intervention.
  • Empower engineering resources to focus on developing new features and enhancing existing systems by offloading mundane tasks to the agent. Automate repetitive and manual tasks such as monitoring production systems around the clock, responding to incidents in real time, and autonomously troubleshooting issues as they arise.

FEATURES

Amplify the impact of your operations team using intelligent automation

Accelerate root-cause analysis

Automate deep, multilayer investigations across apps, platform, and infrastructure. The SRE Agent correlates telemetry, tests hypotheses, and explains root cause clearly—cutting MTTR, reducing on call toil, and delivering consistent, expert-level diagnostics at scale.
Feature icon

Enhance incident response

Capture and reuse operational knowledge from every incident. The SRE Agent surfaces past resolutions, runbooks, and learned context in real time so teams avoid repeated work, eliminate blind spots, and respond faster with higher confidence as the system continuously improves.
Feature icon

Automate mitigation

Choose how autonomous the agent should be. From human-reviewed recommendations to fully automated responses, the SRE Agent executes safe mitigations within guardrails—reducing manual effort, accelerating recovery, and preserving governance, compliance, and operational control.
Feature icon

Tailor to your organizational practices

Adapt the SRE Agent to your environment with custom subagents. Integrate tools, encode best practices, connect knowledge sources, and automate workflows so the agent behaves like your own expert—accelerating response while aligning to internal standards and processes.
Feature icon

Gain intelligent insights

Move from reactive firefighting to preventive reliability engineering. The SRE Agent detects emerging risks, misconfigurations, and trends early, prioritizes what matters, and provides actionable fixes to prevent outages, improve resilience, and reduce cost of failure.

Collaborate with GitHub Copilot
Turn operational insights into lasting code fixes. The SRE Agent opens contextual GitHub issues and Copilot proposes targeted patches, helping teams eliminate root causes, reduce repeat incidents, and accelerate delivery with a closed loop DevOps workflow.

Connect to external MCP servers

Unify your SRE ecosystem with an extensible agentic platform. Azure SRE Agent connects observability, DevOps, incident, and knowledge tools via Model Context Protocol (MCP), acting as the intelligence layer that integrates existing systems, avoids lock-in, and scales with your operations.

Extend any operational workflow

Turn Azure SRE Agent into the operational brain of your environment. Extend workflows with custom MCP servers, unify signals across hybrid and multicloud systems, and automate diagnosis and mitigation—amplifying reliability without rebuilding tools or processes.

Scalable, usage-based billing

Azure Agent Unit (AAU) measures the work of Azure-hosted autonomous agents, like the SRE Agent. AAUs are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. The SRE Agent charge includes two components: a fixed, always-on flow for continuous monitoring and a usage-based active flow for incident mitigation and other tasks where the AI is actively engaged. Total cost is a combination of the fixed baseline cost and incremental usage-based costs.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Azure SRE Agent is an AI-powered service that helps operations teams monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues in Azure-hosted applications to improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Azure SRE Agent is an always-on AI reliability service that connects to your Azure resources, telemetry, runbooks, and incident tools. It continuously monitors health, investigates alerts using logs, metrics, and dependency context, and it performs explainable root cause analysis. The agent recommends or executes mitigations—such as restart, scale, or rollback—within policy guardrails and human approval.
  • Azure SRE Agent helps organizations reduce MTTR and operational toil while scaling reliability and consistency. It standardizes incident response, reinforces best practices and runbooks, and improves SLA adherence through proactive detection and safe automation. It strengthens governance, auditability, and the DevOps feedback loop by using built-in and custom MCP servers to extend its capabilities with Azure Monitor, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, GitHub, and other external services.
  • Explore the product documentation to learn more about SRE Agent.
  • Each agent is billed at 4 Azure Agent Units per hour as the baseline cost. Each task the agent executes is billed at an additional 0.25 Azure Agent Units per second as usage-based cost. Total cost is a combination of the fixed baseline cost and incremental usage-based costs. Please refer to the pricing page for the unit price of Azure Agent Unit in your region.
  • Azure Agent Unit (AAU) is a standardized consumption unit that represents the agentic work performed by Azure-hosted autonomous agents, including the Azure SRE Agent.
