We continue to find ways to make Azure a better value for our customers. Azure Managed Disks, a new disk service launched in Feb ’17, simplifies the management and scaling of Virtual Machines (VM).

Azure Cosmos DB, announced at the Microsoft Build 2017 conference, is the first globally distributed, multi-model database service for building planet scale apps. You can easily build globally-distributed applications without the hassle of complex, multiple-datacenter configurations.

Over the last couple days there has been a lot of public discussion about a current ransomware attack known as WannaCrypt.  This malware has caused customer pain and concern.

Today at Microsoft Build 2017, we are delighted to announce the public preview of a new way to obtain and consume Azure compute at a much lower price using Azure Batch – low-priority VMs.

The built-in geo-replication feature has been generally available to SQL Database customers since 2014. During this time one of the most common customer requests has been about supporting transparent failover with automatic activation.

Azure Cosmos DB is Microsoft’s globally distributed, horizontally partitioned, multi-model database service. The service is designed to allow customers to elastically (and independently) scale throughput and storage across any number of geographical regions.

Earlier today at the Microsoft Build 2017 conference in Seattle, Scott Guthrie announced two new offerings to the Azure Database Services Platform – Azure Database for MySQL and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
