General availability: 4 vCore Azure SQL Database managed instances on Gen5 hardware

Four vCore Azure SQL Database managed instances are now available on Gen5 hardware for the General Purpose and Business Critical Service tiers, providing customers a cost-effective way to migrate SQL applications with lower compute and memory requirements to Azure.
The 4 vCore option provides more flexibility to customers in appropriately sizing managed instances based on their application needs and eliminate unnecessary database consolidation on a single, large-size managed instance.
Price of a 4 vCore managed instance is half the price of an 8 vCore instance of the same service tier, which considerably improves the cost effectiveness in production and dev/test scenarios.
