Classic alerts in Azure Monitor to retire in June 2019

Azure Monitor Classsic Alerts retirement has been postponed till Aug 31, 2019. For more information, see our update.

Azure Monitor has now become a unified full stack monitoring service across resources. For more information, see our blog post on the new Azure Monitor service.

The new Azure monitoring and alerting platform has been built to be faster, smarter, and extensible—keeping pace with the growing expanse of cloud computing and in line with the Microsoft Intelligent Cloud philosophy. With the new Azure Monitor service in place, we will be retiring the "classic" monitoring and alerting platform. The classic monitoring and alerting platform is currently usable from the Alerts (classic) section of the Azure portal.

Classic monitoring and alerting will be retired on June 30, 2019; including the closure of related APIs, the Azure portal interface, and services in it. Specifically, the following will be retired:

We will soon provide tools to allow you to voluntarily migrate your alerts from the Alerts (classic) section of the Azure portal to the new Azure alerts.

We encourage users to get started and create alerts in the new platform.
