Please see a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) below.

FAQs
Q: Can I continue to create vFXT nodes and clusters?
A: Yes. You may continue to create and delete vFXT nodes and clusters through the retirement date of September 30, 2025.

Q: Will I be able to create new vFXT clusters after the retirement date?
A: No. You will not be able to create new vFXT clusters after the retirement date.

Q: Will I still have support for my vFXT clusters?
A: Yes. Support for vFXT clusters will continue through September 30, 2025. If you need assistance setting up, configuring, or troubleshooting your vFXT software, our support team will be able to help you through September 30, 2025.

Q: What happens after September 30, 2025? Will my vFXT nodes stop working?
A: You may continue to use existing vFXT clusters in your subscription beyond the announced retirement date, however, support will no longer be available. There is nothing built into the product that will disable it or cause it to stop working after the retirement date.

Q: Is there any way to get support for my vFXT after the retirement date?
A: No. Support for vFXT ends September 30, 2025. There will be no software support for any vFXT issues after the retirement date.

Q: Will I continue to be billed for vFXT resources in my subscription after the retirement date?
A: Yes. As with all other Azure resources, billing will continue for resources in your subscription. This means that you will continue to be billed for any vFXT resources in your subscription even after the retirement date. To prevent vFXT billing, remove all vFXT resources from your subscription.

Q: Is the vFXT gone? I can’t find the vFXT in the Marketplace.
A: As a part of the retirement process, we are hiding the Avere vFXT for Azure offer. Hiding a Marketplace offer allows all existing customers to continue using the offer. This means that you can continue creating and deleting vFXT resources even though the offer is no longer visible in the Marketplace. You maintain your current workflow until the retirement date. You may continue to use Terraform to manage your vFXT resources even after the offer is hidden in the Marketplace.

Q: Will Microsoft delete my vFXT resources (like VMs, disks, and NICs) after the retirement date?
A: Microsoft will not remove your vFXT resources before the retirement date. If Microsoft chooses to remove your vFXT resources after the retirement date, Microsoft must provide a 90-day notice to owners.

Q: I still have questions about ordering or support. Where can I go for more information?
A: Contact your Microsoft account team. They will work with the product team to get you the answers you need.
