Switch to Azure AD authentication for application insights by 30 September 2025

On 30 September 2025, API keys used to stream live metrics telemetry into application insights will be retired. After that date, applications which use API keys will no longer won’t be able to send telemetry data to your application insights resource.
Authenticated telemetry ingestion for live metrics streaming to application insights will need to be done with Azure AD authentication for application insights, which provides these additional capabilities:
Self-service password reset
Azure AD Multi-Factor Authentication
Hybrid integration to write password changes back to on-premises environment
Hybrid integration to enforce password protection policies for an on-premises environment
Password-less authentication

To continue streaming live metrics telemetry into your application insights resource , switch to Azure AD authentication for application insights by 30 September 2025.
