Published date: May 08, 2020
System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) management pack for SQL Managed Instance is now available in preview. Use it to build hybrid monitoring solutions for your on-premises and data center resources, along with monitoring SQL Managed Instances in the cloud.
SCOM allows data center administrators to deploy, configure, manage and monitor the operations, services, devices and applications of multiple enterprise IT systems through a single pane of glass. The capability of SCOM is being extended with this preview of the management pack for Azure SQL Managed Instance. This will extend SCOM to provide hybrid monitoring capabilities, allowing for monitoring of SQL Servers and other resources on-premises and in data centers, along with SQL Managed Instance in the cloud. The monitoring capabilities available with this management pack are at the same level as the latest supported SCOM management pack for SQL Server. In addition, automated discovery and configuration of SQL Managed Instances and support for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) authentication are provided.
