Microsoft Azure StorSimple: Primary Volumes now called Tiered Volumes
Updated: August 26, 2015
The StorSimple Primary Volume type is renamed Tiered Volume. The StorSimple device continues to support two volume types: Tiered Volume (formerly Primary) and Archival Volume. Both of these volume types tier data to the cloud and can have a local presence on the device. Choose Archival Volume if you are working with less frequently accessed archival data. For all other use cases, select Tiered Volume. You can view the type that corresponds to each of the volumes in the Volumes summary page, as shown in the following snip: For more information about how to manage the storage volumes provisioned on the Azure StorSimple device, refer to the Volumes Overview in the product documentation.
