General availability: Global VNet Peering in Azure Government regions

Published date: March 01, 2019

Global VNet Peering is now generally available in all Azure Government cloud regions. This means you can peer virtual networks across the Azure Government cloud regions. You cannot peer across Azure Government cloud and Azure public cloud regions.

Global VNet Peering enables resources in your virtual network to communicate directly, without gateways, extra hops, or transit over the public internet. Communication is completely private and over the Microsoft backbone. This allows a high-bandwidth, low-latency connection across peered virtual networks in different regions.

With a couple of clicks, you can use Global VNet Peering to share resources within a global, private network. You can easily replicate data across regions for redundancy and disaster recovery. For more information, see the overview pagedetailed documentationrequirements, and pricing.
