Azure FXT Edge Filer Now available
Updated: July 15, 2019
Azure FXT Edge Filer is an on-premises caching appliance that integrates network-attached storage and Blob storage.
The Azure FXT Edge Filer creates a performance tier between compute and file storage with the primary goal of providing high-throughput and low-latency NFS to high-performance computing (HPC) applications running on Linux compute farms along with the ability to tier storage data to Blob storage.
This release redesigns the Avere FXT Edge Filer from Avere Systems following their acquisition by Microsoft in 2018. The appliances are useful to build active archives in the cloud, speed the performance of NAS architectures, and optimize access to storage for remote locations. Two new Azure models are available to meet various performance needs.
