Azure Functions provides a fully managed compute platform with high reliability and security, so you can focus on building apps, not infrastructure. Azure Functions 2.0 runtime is now generally available, with major performance improvements at its core as it has been re-written on .NET Core, allowing Functions to be written and hosted locally on Windows, Mac and Linux. Updates also include support for Python development and the ability to deploy Functions built on top of Linux OS using the pay-per-execution model. Developers now can enjoy a richer monitoring experience with Azure Functions showing HTTP dependencies on the Application Insights App Map.
