Azure Database for PostgreSQL - Hyperscale (Citus): Same region read replicas now generally available

Published date: August 18, 2021

Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Hyperscale (Citus) now supports asynchronous replication of data from one server group (the ‘primary’ or ‘source’) to other server groups (the ‘replicas’) in the same region. This feature allows read-heavy workloads to scale out and be balanced across replica server groups according to your preferences. Replica server groups are read-only; any writes are those replicated from data changes on the primary server group nodes. Replicas can be managed using the Azure portal.

Review the Hyperscale (Citus) documentation for read replicas to learn more.
