Azure Data Lake update announcement

Friday, May 13, 2016

The Azure Data Lake engineering team has been working hard on refining the services, and a few recent updates provide basic improvements across the board. You can find detailed descriptions of all the updates in the following release notes:

Among all those updates, there are a few things the team would like to draw your attention to:

  • There's better compatibility with other tools when a U-SQL script sends output to Azure Storage blobs.
  • The Azure SDK includes Azure Data Lake Tools for Visual Studio. This makes it easier than ever to get the tools you need from a single location.
  • Both Azure Data Lake Store and Azure Data Lake Analytics support writing diagnostic logs. This is very useful if you need to perform auditing of how the services are being used.

You can visit the Azure Data Lake blog for technical articles about Data Lake Store, Data Lake Analytics, and Azure HDInsight. If you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to go to the feedback page and create an entry there. If you have any questions about using Data Lake, you can post it on the MSDN forum to get answers from the product team or the community.
