  • Azure Infrastructure Resiliency Manager is a self-service Azure experience that helps customers define, validate, and achieve infrastructure resiliency goals. It brings together goal setting, targeted recommendations, at-scale posture views, simulated outage drills, and recovery plans for applications.
  • Goals and recommendations let customers model applications using service groups, assign zonal resiliency goals, view which resources are zone-resilient, non-zone-resilient or not evaluated, and review targeted recommendations for resources that do not meet the assigned goals.
  • A service group is used to model an application by grouping Azure resources across subscriptions and resource groups. It becomes the application-level scope where goals, posture, recommendations, drills and recovery plans can be viewed or acted on.
  • Drills let customers assess service group resource resiliency by simulating zone outages on individual resources, evaluate cross-zone resiliency solutions, and identify resources that require resiliency improvements to support application continuity.
  • Yes. Customers can monitor health of the service group and resources in real time during drill execution through integrated metrics.
  • It lets customers define resource recovery order using customizable groups, run automated readiness checks, execute zonal failover operations across multiple resource types, automate group-level actions using Azure automation runbooks and re-protect resources after failover.

Customers can describe a new application architecture to the agent and receive resiliency recommendations or ask the agent to generate ARM or Bicep templates that include resiliency configurations. For existing environments, customers can provide a list of resources, and the agent will create a service group, assign resiliency goals, evaluate resiliency posture, and guide remediation for resources that do not meet those goals.
