Azure Storage Overview pricing
Reliable, economical cloud storage for data big and small
Azure offers a range of storage solutions to fit your scale, performance, and budget needs—ranging from a low-cost Archive solution to a low-latency, high-throughput Premium Managed Disk offering for I/O-intensive applications.
Scalable object storage for documents, videos, pictures, and unstructured text or binary data. Choose from Hot, Cool, or Archive tiers.
Persistent, secured disks that support simple and scalable virtual machine deployment. Designed for 99.999% availability. Choose Premium (SSD) Disks for low latency and high throughput.
Fully managed file shares in the cloud, accessible via standard Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. Enables sharing files between applications using Windows APIs or REST API.
Store and retrieve messages up to 64 KB in size. Used to store messages to be processed asynchronously.
Data redundancy options
|locally redundant storage||Designed to provide at least 99.999999999 % (11 9's) durability of objects over a given year by keeping multiple copies of your data in one datacenter.|
|zone redundant storage||Designed to provide at least 99.9999999999 % (12 9's) durability of objects over a given year by keeping multiple copies of your data across multiple datacenters or across regions.|
|geographically redundant storage||Designed to provide at least 99.99999999999999 % (16 9's) durability of objects over a given year by keeping multiple copies of the data in one region, and asynchronously replicating to a second region.|
|read-access geographically redundant storage||Designed for to provide at least 99.99999999999999 % (16 9's) durability of objects over a given year and 99.99 % read availability by allowing read access from the second region used for GRS.|

Now available: General Purpose v2 storage account
Azure now offers three types of storage accounts: General Purpose v2, General Purpose v1, and Blob Storage. Storage accounts determine eligibility for certain storage services and features, and each is priced differently. We recommend thoroughly reviewing the pricing models to determine which is the most appropriate, as some workloads can be priced very differently depending on which account type is used.
For new customers, we generally recommend General Purpose v2 for access to the latest storage features, including Tiered Storage and Archive. We recommend General Purpose v1 and Blob Storage accounts only for customers with prior experience with those accounts, but these customers may also benefit from using GPv2. Yes. Storage capacity is billed in units of the average daily amount of data stored, in gigabytes (GB), over a monthly period. For example, if you consistently used 10 GB of storage for the first half of the month, and none for the second half of the month, you would be billed for your average usage of 5 GB of storage. However, using the Cool (GPv2 accounts only) or Archive tier for less than 30 and 180 days respectively will incur an additional charge.
You can select your redundancy when creating your storage account. Once created, you can check the redundancy either by using the Azure Portal or the service management API.
