Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to get started with Azure DevOps?
No. No credit card is needed to get started. When you are ready to buy more, we’ll set up your credit card as part of the purchase experience.
In order to use Azure Pipelines, do I need to use all Azure DevOps products?
No. While our products are designed to work well together, you can use any Azure DevOps product individually.
Where can I find more information about other Azure services?
For more information about other Azure services check out here.
How does the free minutes for CI/CD work?
Every month, you can use one pipeline to build for 1800 minutes. If you need more time or would like to run more than one build at a time, simply purchase the number of pipelines you need. Once you’ve purchased one, your free one pipeline is upgraded to unlimited minutes.
If I have another question, could I chat with someone?

When do I get charged?
All charges appear on your next monthly invoice. Charges are based on the number of users and build and deployment agents you purchased during the month, plus the actual usage of other services that were used. The free amounts of build and cloud-based load testing reset on the first day of the month.
What if I add a user in the middle of the month?
When you purchase a user part way through the calendar month, the charges are prorated based on the number of days remaining in that month. When you reduce the number of paid users on your account, the change takes effect at the beginning of the next month.
