Azure Availability Zones are unique fault-isolated physical locations, within an Azure region, with independent power, network, and cooling. Each Availability Zone is comprised of one or more datacenters and houses infrastructure to support highly available, mission critical applications with fault tolerance to datacenter failures.

We are excited to announce In-Place restore of disks in IaaS VMs along with simplified restore improvements in Azure Backup. This feature helps roll back or fix corrupted virtual machines through in-place restore without the needs of spinning up a new VM.

Today we are announcing we have open sourced Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX) Runtime on GitHub. ONNX Runtime is a high-performance inference engine for machine learning models in the ONNX format on Linux, Windows, and Mac.

SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines is a cost-effective lift and shift method to run SQL Server on cloud with full control of the version, edition of SQL Server, Operating System, and the VM size.

Azure Hybrid Benefit (AHB) for SQL Server allows you to use on-premises SQL Server licenses to run SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.

We recently published a blog on a fraud detection solution delivered to a banking customer. The solution required complete processing of a streaming pipeline for telemetry data in real-time using a serverless architecture.

We recently published Storage Configuration Guidelines for SQL Server on Azure VM summarizing the test findings from running TPC-E profile test workloads on premium storage configuration options. We continued this testing by including Ultra SSD.

We are very excited to announce the general availability of Avere vFXT for Azure. This culminates months of effort beginning when Microsoft welcomed Avere to the Azure family earlier this year.
