Azure SQL Database update becomes API default August 1, 2015

Published date: April 29, 2015
As part of the previously announced general availability update running on Azure SQL Database V12 servers, we’re upgrading two application programming interface (API) default values beginning August 1, 2015. When you create a database using T-SQL, REST, or Azure PowerShell APIs without specifying a database edition, the default value will be the new Standard/S0 performance level, which is the same default that is used in the portal. When you create a server using REST or Azure PowerShell without specifying a server version, the default value will change from V11 to V12.For more information, please visit the API value change documentation page: What's new in SQL Database V12. There is no additional charge for this feature.
