Analysis Services Tabular improves MDX query performance in the cloud
With a recent update of the Analysis Services Tabular engine in Azure Analysis Services (AAS) and in Power BI, Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) clients, such as Microsoft Excel, can now enjoy improved query performance. This MDX performance improvement alleviates some of the optimization burden for measures used in a PivotTable.

Azure Analysis Services—Two new higher compute SKUs are now available

Two new SKUs for Azure Analysis Services, S8V2 and S9V2, are now available. These SKUs are based on next-generation hardware and have double the QPU (abstraction of CPU) of the existing S8/S9 SKUs.
Azure Analysis Services diagnostic logging improvements for scale-out

Get targeted log analysis with improvements to the Diagnostic Logs extension of Azure Analysis Services. Diagnostic Logs now allow you to access and break out server metrics for each query replica with the scale-out feature.
