Microsoft Azure Cloud Services: U.S., Japan, UK and EU Export Controls

This paper offers an overview of United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Japan, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand export control laws and regulations as they may apply to the use of Microsoft Azure cloud services, with some general guidance that Azure customers should consider when assessing their obligations under US, UK, EU, and Japan export controls. The Azure platform offers flexible options, capabilities, and tools that customers may use to help ensure compliance with export control laws in their use of Azure cloud services.
