12-Month Prepay Offer
this offer is no longer available to new subscribers. existing subscribers are able to continue utilizing this offer.
Prepay for Azure services for a 12-month term and receive a 5% discount on Azure services. The minimum purchase is $6000. You will be billed at the time of purchase. If you have an unused balance at the end of the 12-month term, your funds will be forfeited.
Discount Details
The offer discount rate is applied against the Pay-As-You-Go rates for the portion of your usage up to your prepaid purchase amount. Any usage exceeding the prepayment purchase amount will be billed at the standard Pay-As-You-Go rates.
Exclusions
Your prepaid funds may not be used to purchase (and discounts will not apply to) Azure support plans, third-party branded products, products sold through Azure Marketplace, or products otherwise sold separately from Azure (for example, Azure Active Directory Premium).
Azure storage capacity is excluded from the discounts.
The discount rate cannot be combined with the graduated discount provided as part of the Pay-As-You-Go rates for Azure Storage, Data Transfer, Content Delivery Network, Media Services, and any other Azure service for which the pricing is dependent on the volume of use of that service. For these services, the discount is applied against the base price tier.
Payment Options
When purchasing a new subscription, you may pay by credit card, debit card, or invoice. Please note that we do not accept prepaid and virtual credit cards. If you choose to pay by invoice, your service activation may be delayed pending credit verification.
When switching from Pay-As-You-Go to this offer, we currently support only invoice.
Change Policy
During the offer term, you may increase the prepayment purchase amount at any time from the account portal. Please note that an increase in the prepayment purchase amount will not change the offer term (the end date will remain unchanged, and any unused portion of the prepayment purchase amount will be forfeited). The change will take effect in the next monthly billing cycle.
For example, let's say that you make a prepayment purchase of $8200 for the start of June. You will have 12 months to spend the $8200 on Azure services. If in September, you have consumed a majority of the $8200 and would like to add more funds, you may do so, but will only have through the end of the original 12-month term to consume all prepaid funds. If at any time the prepaid funds are exhausted, usage will be billed at standard retail rates.
Mid-term prepayment purchase additions will be billed and added to the account on the account’s standard monthly billing cycle, which is established at the time of the first Azure sign-up/purchase for the account.
You cannot decrease your prepayment during the 12-month term.
Cancelation Policy
Refunds (including for unused purchase paid in advance) will not be provided, except where required by law.
If you cancel your subscription within the first 30 days, you will be responsible for paying for any usage incurred during the month of cancelation.
If you cancel your subscription at any other time, you will be responsible for paying for your purchase for the remaining term and any overage incurred during the month of cancelation.
Renewal Policy
By default, your subscription is set to auto-renew at the end of the term. The next term will have the same prepaid purchase amount. Any unused prepaid balance at the end of the current term will not be rolled over to the next term and will be forfeited at the end of the current term. The discount for the new subscription term will be whatever is in effect for this offer at time of renewal. You can opt out of auto-renewal at any time. In that case, your subscription will expire at the end of the term.
If you do not renew your prepaid offer, your subscription will be converted to a standard Pay-As-You-Go subscription at the end of the term.

Usage Quotas
The following monthly usage quotas will be applied. If you need higher limits, please contact customer service at any time, so that we can understand your needs and adjust these limits appropriately.
Cloud Services and Virtual Machines
The standard quota is 20 concurrent Standard Small (A1) compute instances or an equivalent number of other types or sizes of compute instances as determined by using the compute instance quota conversion table below.
1 COMPUTE INSTANCE IN THE FOLLOWING | NUMBER OF EQUIVALENT STANDARD SMALL (A1) INSTANCES |
---|---|
Extra Small (A0) | 1 |
Small (A1) | 1 |
Medium (A2) | 2 |
Large (A3) or A6 | 4 |
Extra Large (A4) or A7 | 8 |
Storage
5 concurrent storage accounts
Active Directory
150,000 objects
An object is an entry in the directory service, represented by its unique distinguished name. An example of an object is a user entry used for authentication purposes.
If you exceed the above quotas for a given month, you will still be responsible for charges that exceed the quotas. We also reserve the right to disable your account in any month that you exceed the quota, but we will make multiple attempts to contact you by e-mail before doing so. There are additional situations that may require us to disable your account, including non-payment of fees. For further details, please refer to our online services use rights for the Azure platform that are published on our legal page.
Service-level agreements
We offer a set of robust service level agreements (SLAs). Details on our SLAs can be found on our SLA page. SLAs are not provided for services during preview.
Resource Commitment
All increases in usage levels of service resources (e.g., adding to the number of running compute instances or increasing the amount of storage in use) are subject to the availability of these service resources. Any quota described in the Usage Quotas section is not a commitment that there will be sufficient resources available for you to reach the quota.
For any subscriptions of this offer that are not incurring charges and are inactive for more than 90 days, we reserve the right to remove any compute resources including hosted service(s), virtual machines, and websites. Please note that in this event, no data would be deleted, and you would be able to redeploy at any time. We will also provide advance notice prior to removing any compute resources.
You can also avoid having your compute resources removed by doing either of the following every 90 days:
- Log into either the Azure portal or the new Microsoft Azure portal.
- Access your hosted service(s) via our Azure APIs.
