Logan Iyer, Distinguished Engineer, is the Vice President of the Windows Platform and Developer (WinPD) organization at Microsoft. With the mission to empower Windows developers to bring the best agentic and AI experiences to the 1.4 billion Windows users around the world. WinPD is driving innovation across the Windows ecosystem and winning developers’ love of Windows.
Logan brings a deep passion for technology and a relentless drive for rapid innovation that has consistently reshaped and redefined the work he leads. His ability to translate bold ideas into transformative platforms has been a hallmark of his leadership.
With a career spanning several decades in the technology industry, Logan has held pivotal leadership positions that have shaped both platform architecture and developer experiences. Prior to his current role, Logan was Chief Architect for Windows Core, where he led the evolution of foundational operating system components. Earlier, as a Distinguished Engineer in the Xbox Gaming Ecosystem, Logan spearheaded the creation of Microsoft’s first truly cross PC/Xbox/Cloud game development platform that is now widely adopted by Xbox’s game creator partners.
Logan’s publications include: Running Distilled DeepSeek R1 models locally on Copilot+ PCs, powered by Windows Copilot Runtime, DeepSeek R1 7B & 14B distilled models for Copilot+ PCs via Azure AI Foundry – further expanding AI on the edge, and Elevating the developer experience on Windows with new AI tools and productivity tools
