We’re building upon our existing regions with Availability Zones to provide a comprehensive set of high availability and disaster recovery capabilities that meet your most demanding business continuity needs.
Availability Zones are fault-isolated locations within an Azure region that provide redundant power, cooling, and networking. Availability Zones allow you to run mission-critical applications with high availability and fault tolerance to data center failures. As our commitment to you, we will offer a financially backed 99.99% SLA for virtual machines deployed in two or more zones within a region when the service is generally available.
