Azure Cosmos DB: Names indexes for Cassandra API now in general availability

The Azure Cosmos DB Cassandra API now includes full support for named indexes. This addition allows you to define a new index with a name on a single column. For columns with existing data, the Cassandra API can index the data during the statement execution. It’s important to note that proper indexing helps to improve performance for your workloads.
