Azure SQL Database—A performance optimization change to default settings is coming soon

The default maximum degree of parallelism (MAXDOP) option for new single databases and elastic pool databases in Azure SQL Database will soon change from 0 to 8. This will help improve customer workload performance and reduce unnecessary resource utilization.
