Leverage priority-based execution to prioritize critical requests during high traffic situations, potentially throttling lower priority ones to be retried according to your configured retry policy.
To use this feature, simply define the priority level for requests sent to Azure Cosmos DB using client SDK libraries. Depending on the specified priority, if there are more requests than the allocated RU/s, Azure Cosmos DB will throttle lower-priority requests first, ensuring high-priority requests are processed on a best-effort basis.
This will help you in enhancing the customer experience without the need for overprovisioning RU/s for peak loads, thus avoiding unnecessary costs.
