Support for SKU recommendation in the Azure SQL Migration extension for Azure Data Studio is now available. The SKU recommendation feature assists with your migration journey and helps in optimizing your cost.
- It can evaluate the source SQL Server performance and utilization characteristics to recommend a right-sized Azure SQL Managed Instance or SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
- Additionally, it now supports Premium SSD v2 for SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machine.
- You can also import data that was collected for a SKU recommendation with Data Migration Assistant.
