One of the best things about running your VMs in Azure or Azure Stack is you can begin to modernize around your virtual machines (VMs) by taking advantage of the services provided by the cloud.

Before we built Azure Stack, our program manager team called a lot of customers who were struggling to create a private cloud out of their virtualization infrastructure.

If you do it often, automate itIn the virtualization days, before cloud and self-service, it took a while to get all the approvals, credentials, virtual LANs (VLANs), logical unit numbers (LUNs), etc.

In the virtualization days I used to pad all my requests for virtual machines (VM) to get the largest size possible.

Remember back in the virtualization days when you had to pick a host for your virtual machine? Some of my business units could tell by the naming convention the make and manufacturer of the hardware.

Back in August we informed you with a blog post title “Enhance security and simplify network integration with Extension Host on Azure Stack” about a new capability that is coming to Microsoft Azure Stack. This capability further enhances the security and simplifies network integration.

More and more we hear from our customers that building hybrid applications is necessary for their business. While Microsoft Azure continues to be the platform of choice for building applications, Azure Stack and Azure together enable building hybrid applications.

DevOps focuses on aligning culture, people, processes, and technology. It is sometimes thought that the technology part does not play a critical role in DevOps. This is wrong! Tools and technology help facilitate DevOps methodology and processes.
