Azure IoT Edge will distribute cloud intelligence across edge devices. This includes devices where the IoT solution is run centrally in the cloud with parts of the solution offloaded to remote edge devices ranging from Raspberry Pi, to industrial machines, to servers. These edge devices can occasionally be disconnected but require cloud connectivity for management and updates.
