Exchange 2016 dev/test farm in Azure

Build out an evaluation or dev/test Exchange 2016 server environment.

Do you want to play with the new version of Exchange? Have you developed an Exchange app and want to see if it works with Exchange 2016?

The new Exchange 2016 dev/test environment in Azure article steps you through building out the following:

This environment consists of two Azure virtual machines in Azure infrastructure services:

  • Windows Server Active Directory domain controller (adVM)
  • Exchange 2016 server (exVM)

You build out this environment in three phases:

  1. Create the virtual network and the adVM virtual machine.
  2. Create the exVM virtual machine.
  3. Install the trial version of Exchange 2016 on exVM, create two mailboxes and test email delivery.

When complete, you have a functioning Exchange email server that you can access from the Internet for administration and testing. You can expand this configuration as needed to meet your evaluation or dev/test needs.
